The SC Department of Insurance requires SC resident LA&H and P&C Producers take 24 CE hours with 3 hours being Ethics, and a minimum of 8 hours in each line of authority in a 24 month period.
The licensee’s 24 month compliance period is based on their birth month and even or odd birth year, and has until the end of their birth month to meet their CE requirement. Their new compliance period begins the first day of the following month.
SC resident Producers may take any approved SC CE course, regardless of their license type or the subject matter, and receive CE credit hours as long as they take 8 CE hours in their lines of authority and 3 hours of Ethics in their compliance period.
Repeated Course Numbers: Credit hours will not be given more than once for a course number repeated within two (2) years of its original completion date.
Carryover Hours: Producers who accumulate credits in excess of the continuing education requirement may apply a maximum of 18 credits to the next compliance period.
The $25.00 Producer license renewal fee applies to SC resident and must be paid electronically to the SC Department of Insurance or National Insurance Producer Registry, www.nipr.com
Anyone not completing the CE requirements or paying the CE recordkeeping or Producer license renewal fees will have their license(s) nonrenewed.
CE Transcripts are available on the State Based Systems website, statebasedsystems.com
We strongly suggest you review your CE transcript to be sure your CE and mandatory course requirements have or will be met by the deadline.
